Brooks: Granholm Was Worst

Apparently, somebody forgot to tell one L. Brooks Patterson what
time of the year this is…you know all that stuff about peace and good
will.
My oh my, he was upset with the soon to be ex-governor whom the
Oakland County Executive labeled, "The most incompetent Governor in the
history of this state."
And it gets worse, but first, what's his beef?
Well his former "friend", Gov. Jennifer Granholm had some unkind
things to say about Mr. P. sticking his nose into the battle over water
with the burbs on one side and Motown on the other. She notes Patterson
has a history of doing this.
She basically told him to knock off the rhetoric although she did
not use those exact words but Mr. Patterson got the message.
What is that law of physics and politics: For every action there
is a reaction?
Bam. It didn't take him long.
To her "laundry list of failures," he opines in his personal
blog in the Detroit News, "you can add both cowardice and ignorance."
He says she took the shot when nobody was around to shoot back.
She frets about another war over water than could split the
region at a time when bipartisanship is enjoying a Renaissance of
sorts. The new governor wants that, the old one fears Patterson could
doom that. He counters, "There is no need for me to defend myself for
being a strong advocate for Oakland County."
"She took the shot as she fled the battlefield of politics…." he
rants on as he warms to the subject.
He sights the recent scandal surrounding the Detroit Water Board
and observes "such blatant criminal conduct elevates the cost of doing
business for the suburbs tied into this monopolistic system."
He shouts for fairness.
She tells him, if you got a beef come to the table with "an open
hand rather than a fist."
Looks like the two of them will agree to disagree and as for
sharing any "Glad tidings and Joy?" Fat chance of that.

For someone who rose to office using racism, whose public drunkeness has destroyed public property, whose crudeness is legendary to cast stones at someone elses career is just the kind of drunken, hate filled, slovenly arrogance that the name Brooks Patterson will be remembered for when he is dead and gone which should not be long from the looks of the bloated old goat.

Mr. Skubick writes that maybe Brooks forgot what time of year it is....what Mr. Skubick fails to understand is that his recounting of Granholm's criticisms of Brooks is what started the controversy. Jennifer Granholm was void of the Christmas Spirit when she took her parting shots against Brooks. Where is the criticism of her lack of Christmas Spirit?

The real issue at hand is how government is operated in Southeast MI. Why shouldn't Brooks be concerned about the Detroit Water and Sewer organization...weren't several individuals just indicted for misusing the funds that we, in the suburbs, contribute? If he wasn't watching the money where would Oakland County be? Didn't we elect him to protect and serve Oakland County properly?

As for comments like those posted by Anonymous...you wanted to take a pound of flesh and not sign your name to it....that was brave! You can take your inappropriate personal shots against Brooks but what you cannot do is argue against his quality leadership and record of success. He has a balanced budget for the next three years and manages one of the few "AAA" bond rated counties...not too many around the country can claim that!

As for race...it has nothing to do with this argument. We do not care what color, race or religion the people are that are running government, all we care about is that they provide quality services and manage our money well. Throw the race card if you will but remember it is our money that is being managed...I for one want it managed very efficiently. Oakland County is a diverse county and Brooks embraces that very fact.

So, if there are people that want to take shots at Oakland County and L. Brooks Patterson...bring your facts and let us debate the issues like professionals. We are happy to do it anytime. I am a proud Oakland County resident and I am happy that we have Brooks!

Yeah, Brooks has been a paragon of virtue trying to keep black kids out of white schools, public drunkeness and an all around pig. Brooks is not worth debating, his passing will be little noted nor long remembered except for his willingness to use hate to divide. Brooks is just a white Coleman Young.
